Links awakening!!! One of my favourite games ever

I missed the DS era when GF gave us some of the most complete content games like BW, BW sequels or HGSS remakes. Let face it the declive started with 3DS they started launching incomplete games like XY I persoally enjoyed it but it is obvious there were a lacking of time at customize them 100%. First Alola games were Ok but then they brought Horrendus Ultra versions. Public tolerated this lack of ambition with 3DS games that they just thought: why should we invest more time making a complete games in Switch? They will pay anyway.. well that did not go very well.

I chose omega ruby all those years ago. I played alptha shappire a few months back and I personally find Archie the better villain. I think its just his look and the way he talks.

Scarlett & Violet was literally the most fun I’ve ever had playing Pokémon in my entire life, including when I was a kid, and is the thing that got me back into the franchise today. First game I ever finished the Pokédex on EVER because it isn’t wildly boring just running in the grass for hours.

They made team aqua black. I hate it. Not because they're black. There's lots of media with black people in it. Like Spawn and Bleach. That's fine. What I hate is subversion. Changing things from what they were originally meant to be.

The moon one is because the moon moves with speed across the sky, which people interpret at time-traveling when Pokemon Terrastalize. Whether Terra'ing your Pokemon actually has an effect on time, I don't know. I'm not completely sure that one's a glitch, though. I'm saying this with the benefit of hindsight, obviously. Otherwise, I bought and played these games at launch. I was extremely lucky to have minimal issues; basically just lag and some texture oddities (that are still in the game, by the way). I actually wish I could've gotten some of the insane avatar glitches people got, lol.

You may think most of the game is just catching Pokemon, but that’s actually the goal, “Seek out all Pokemon.” Because when doing so, you get rewarded with Arceus. By perfecting every Pokedex entry, you get rewarded with the shiny charm. So catching isn’t all pointless, it was literally your goal from the start.

Before watching the video: Legends Arceus is undeniably the best "main line" pokemon game on the Switch it is a breath of fresh air for the 3D era in terms of actual gameplay it is the best pokemon game in about 10 years (some say less, some say more) it is not a good pokemon game, but so far as I care, neither are S&S and SV

Gen 3 was ny childhood generation and for me its the best, r/s/e featuring the pokemon contest,the game corner, the pokeblocks, hm dive to explore underwater.

You missed the most important reason why the modern games suck... the pokemon themselves and battling, specifically competitive battling. XY was great imo. Weather got the nerf it needed. And the addition of fairy put dragons in check, as well as added new life to old pokemon that gained the fairy typing, such as Clefable and Azumaril. And then mega evolutions gave new life to other old favorites, and led to interesting team choices. In gen 5, every team was rain or sand, and then every team also ran a powerful dragon. Every. Single. One. This means having a steel type wall was also very important since they are the only things that resist dragon and they excel in both sand and rain. So every team looked the same. Gen 6, and to a lesser extent. 7, had the most varied competitive scene the games have ever seen. Sun and moon brought z moves, which were ok but not as interesting as Megas. And while we could still use Megas, we got no new ones. By sword and shield megas were completely phased out for dynamax, which just looks ridiculous imo. No pokemon looks cool in max form. And despite all the efforts of gen 6 and 7 to make the game more balanced and a wider variety of team types... we have gone right back to very limited number of viable pokmeon and teams, despite adding hundreds of new pokemon. Pokemon doesn't need endgame content if multi-player battles are fun and engaging. You can breed and train up new teams, then go battle. But when Incineroar, clefable, and corviknight are on almost every competitive team, there's no reason to spend dozens of hours designing teams that have no chance of competing.

The thing about the sidequests are, yeah the actual task isnt all that interesting, but i enjoyed them just bc they involve using a pokemon in some way that i found cute and i love seeing pokemon being used in the pokemon world for human tasks. That part has always been interesting to me and the stories around the sidequests are enjoyable. I enjoyed doing them a whole lot

As much as i love Pokèmon by the time USUM rolled around i was quite burned out of the franchise and decided to skip the next games because i really didn't felt like buying a console just to play a game that i know i would get bored of it quickly. The "don't ask questions, just consume product and be excited for the next" quite summarize a lot of people nowadays, a friend of mine behaves like that. When SW&SH released, he was very hyped about it and tried to convince me to buy a Switch just because of it and no matter how many times i ended up saying no i'm not interested he would be mad at me telling me on what i'm missing out and that i should get with the times "a thing i genuinely despise" and i really feel like i did a good thing by not giving into that mindset. The only reason why i ended up buying a Switch many years later was only because of the Devil May Cry HD Collection on the system so i can play it on the go, decided to buy Violet just because the legendary looked cool and while i'm enjoying it, the thrill and hype of Pokèmon i once had seems to be no longer there.

Not looking ahead and without reading comments, here are my guesses: B2/W2, Emerald, HGSS? Well, damn. I almost completely agree with this tier list. Maybe Sun & Moon down one? Also, being objective with Boomer Gen: Yellow & GS are D Tier. Worth playing once each. Other 2 = F.

I bought the game for my collection and started playing it. I’m about 5-6 hours in… I’m not enjoying it as much as I enjoyed sword/shield and scarlet. I’m not sure why it just doesn’t give me the feels. Just want the hisuian forms for my home Dex.

I've been forcing myself to play Pokemon X recently. When I booted up my old save, I didn't remember anything that was going on, so I reset. I've never been so frustrated playing a game. They hold a gun to your head and say, "You WILL follow these tutorials. You WILL listen to these NPCs as they hold you hostage. You WON'T play the game because fuck you." And then on top of that, exploring the wilds just rewards you with Pokemon from older generations. Look, I get that we can't expect them to make 200 new pokemon every game, but at least make the new ones accessable and not have a 0.2% encounter rate. Make the old gen pokemon have the low encounter rate, that way when you do find one you're like, "oh cool, a Geodude, haven't seen one of those in a while!" I just want to play the game and have fun, man...

I believe that they need to add skill trees for the trainer that let you level your trainer into different classes like Swimmer, Hiker, Biker ect. Maybe your trainer could give bonuses to Pokémon of a specific type if they align with their trainer class. Like please if the story has to suck could they at least lean more into the RPG mechanics that every other game in the genre has embraced.

Can’t believe this dude still bitches about dex it when most of them were added in the dlc for sword and shield. They even come cuddle with the game too.

Constant hand holding, rushed and unfinished, gimmicky battle mechanics, just easy, shit story, shit writing and dialogue, exp is handed to you and youre always so over leveled, drop in quality of designs. The saddest thing is how the feeling of adventure is just gone, also the villians being like pantimime villians. Now its aboit phones and bs like that. The last good pokemon game was black and white 2...

5:21 Hard disagree here. I played both DS titles on my phone. The emulator had options to make microphone sounds, so I didn't have to be blowing my phone. Also, I think it's way better to control link with your finger than with a pen

It's not underrated. The DS games are on par with everything in the series, BUT the way most of the stuff that's in these games is just there to show what the DS can do is annoying. No one wants to be blowing the DS. Also, it was a questionable decision to make the dungeons mapped from the start, it takes away the exploration. I think a third game would be amazing. Unfortunately, these 2 DS games don't hold up. Having played all the Zeldas for handhelds, except a link between worlds, the DS titles are easily the lowest points of the series. That doesn't mean they're bad, I love them.

Graphics aren't as important, but art style and polish are. It's what these newer Pokemon games lack in my opinion.
